The best security is in good relations with neighbors. The restoration of relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran will help the security problem not only in Saudi Arabia and Iran but also in the region’s security. The security issues are further aggravated by the dependence of security on weapons. An arms race begins among neighbors. National resources are wasted, and the talk turns to the issue of security. In today’s world, peace, stability, economic development, and security are local and regional issues. Those who come from thousands of miles away to solve security problems create new security problems. The tension in Saudi Arabia-Iran, regime change in Iraq, in Syria Basher al-Assad has to go, regime change in Libya, and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict which will never be resolved were created by those who came here to remove security threats. There are US Navy and Air Force bases in the Gulf. But despite this, there were security threats in this region. Then billions of dollars worth of weapons was sold to the Gulf governments to defend themselves. Weapons make enemies, not friends. Because then weapons are used and new weapons are bought. Saddam Hussein first intimidated Arab rulers. Then more weapons are sold to them. And when Saddam Hussein's regime was overthrown, Iran became a dangerous enemy of the Arabs. This region was divided into Shia and Sunni, now Arabs were more threatened by Iran and used to sell more arms. The Arabs did not have enough sense that many Shias were living in their own countries. And the two Shia countries of Iraq and Iran were their neighbors. But hostility towards Iran is not understood. However, it can be said that Israel was hostile to Iran, and used to support the Palestinians. Iran helped Hezbollah in the war with Israel in Lebanon. It was Israel’s first war with an Arab country in which it was defeated, and the Israeli forces had to withdraw from the Baqa valley in Lebanon. That is why Israel, together with the United States, made Iran an enemy to keep it away from the Arabs whose territories were under military occupation by Israel. The politics of Israel is now bankrupt.

What did America achieve from the pre-emptive invasion of Iraq? When CIA officials reported to President Bush that there were no lethal weapons in Iraq, President Bush did not delay in attacking Iraq and American troops entered Baghdad. The invasion of Iraq, a sovereign country, was illegal, as Secretary-General Kofi Annan said. Now 20 years later, CIA officials who were involved in Iraq policy are saying that we told President Bush that there were no WMD in Iraq and that an attack on Iraq would have dire consequences. The Attack on Iraq was a mistake.

The US invasion of Iraq ruined the lives of innocent Iraqis. Thousands of Iraqi families were destroyed. One hundred thousand Iraqis were killed in this attack. Three million Iraqis are in refugee camps in different countries of the world. The way American soldiers tortured Iraqis in Abu Ghraib prison is a dark stain on the legacy of the Bush administration’s invasion of Iraq. This was part two of the Holocaust in Iraq. Ten years of extremely inhumane economic blockades were imposed on Iraq, from which thousands of Iraqis died. 500,000 infants died shortly after birth because of the shortage of everything in hospitals due to the economic blockades. What Iraq had developed in 30-40 years had turned into ruins. Iraq has gone 50 years behind in education, science, engineering medicine. The upper-middle class country had reached the poverty line. During Saddam Hussein’s reign, Iraqis used to come to America for higher education. And now Iraqis are driving taxis in America. 20 years after the US invasion of Iraq, Iraq is still not back to where it was in 2003. It is the tragedy of this region that the intervention of external powers has caused the destruction of countries and misery for humanity.
